AI Director - London - £115,000

About the Opportunity

A leading global consulting organisation is looking for an experienced an Applied AI Director to drive the growth and delivery of AI-led transformation programmes.

This is a senior leadership role combining business development, client advisory, solution shaping and programme delivery. You will work with C-suite stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop AI-driven offerings and lead multidisciplinary teams delivering secure, scalable and commercially valuable AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sales origination and business development activities across strategic accounts.
  • Shape and close consulting opportunities from initial client engagement through to proposal and contract award.
  • Design and bring to market innovative AI and Generative AI solutions that address industry-specific challenges.
  • Engage senior executives, translating AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes, cost efficiencies and revenue opportunities.
  • Direct the delivery of complex AI programmes, providing oversight of solution architecture, engineering approaches and implementation strategies.
  • Ensure secure, responsible and compliant deployment of AI technologies, including governance, risk management and ethical AI considerations.
  • Build, mentor and lead high-performing consulting teams while maintaining strong commercial performance and delivery quality.

Required Experience:

  • Strong commercial understanding of the modern AI ecosystem, including:
  • Generative AI
  • Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Prompt Engineering
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Vector Databases
  • MLOps
  • Experience leading the implementation of enterprise-scale AI solutions and being accountable for delivery outcomes.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP and associated AI services.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior business and technology stakeholders.
