AI Agent Engineer / Machine Learning Engineer

SC Cleared | Remote | £465/day Inside IR35 | Initial 3-Month Contract

We're working with a leading software company specialising in Enterprise AI and digital transformation. Their AI platform enables organisations to securely connect, discover and utilise enterprise data to power AI-driven search, intelligent automation and regulatory compliance.

They are looking for an SC Cleared AI Agent and Machine Learning Engineer to join their team from August, supporting the delivery of an exciting Central Government programme helping to develop intelligent AI agents and machine learning capabilities that solve real-world business challenges.

Contract Details:

Duration: Initial 3-month contract (likely extension)

Location: Fully Remote (UK)

Rate: £465 per day

IR35: Inside IR35

Clearance: Active SC Clearance is essential

You'll be responsible for:

Designing and developing AI agents using modern LLM frameworks

Building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using enterprise knowledge sources

Developing and deploying Machine Learning models for intelligent decision-making

Integrating AI services with enterprise APIs and data platforms

Engineering prompts, tool calling and agent workflows

Working with structured and unstructured data to improve AI performance

Collaborating with software engineers, data scientists and architects to deliver secure AI solutions

Ensuring solutions meet security, governance and compliance requirements expected within government environmentRequirements

Active SC Clearance (mandatory)

Experience in AI Agent Engineering or Machine Learning Engineering.

Available to start in August

Strong communication skills and experience working within Agile delivery teamsIf you're an AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Generative AI Engineer, LLM Engineer or Software Engineer with hands-on experience building production AI solutions, I'd be keen to speak with you.
