Hybrid:Loughborough University is committed to allowing its employees to work dynamically with a combination of working on campus and remotely. IT Services staff typically work 2-3 days on campus with flexibility for remote working.

Join us as a Solution Architect (Power Platform) and play a key role in shaping how automation, low-code development and AI are adopted across the University. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and lead a growing Power Platform capability, enabling colleagues across the University to deliver impactful digital solutions safely and effectively.

  • You’ll combine hands-on expertise with strategic leadership to define standards, guide delivery, and ensure solutions are secure, scalable and sustainable.

  • You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, Business Analysts and Enterprise Architecture to translate requirements into end-to-end solution designs, covering applications, data, integration and automation.

  • You’ll also lead and support a community of citizen developers, helping them adopt best practice and deliver high-quality solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys setting direction, solving complex problems, and enabling others to succeed - while staying close to modern Microsoft technologies including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and emerging AI capabilities.

About the Department

IT Services is based at Holywell Park on our East Midlands campus and is recognised nationally for excellence in IT provision. We offer a supportive, collaborative environment with a strong focus on innovation, service quality and continuous improvement.

You’ll join a team delivering modern digital platforms and automation capabilities, working across a diverse range of University services and stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with a strong background in Microsoft Power Platform and a passion for enabling others to deliver high-quality digital solutions. You will be comfortable working across stakeholders, translating business needs into robust technical designs, and guiding teams to adopt best practice. You’ll have:

  • Proven experience delivering solution architecture across the full lifecycle

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, including governance, integration and security

  • Ability to translate business requirements into end-to-end solution designs

  • Experience guiding developers or teams and influencing best practice

  • Excellent communication skills, engaging both technical and non-technical audiences
