Cobalt is working with a growing property management business in Southend-on-Sea that is investing in AI, automation and technology to improve how it operates.

The organisation is looking for a Junior Developer who wants practical exposure to AI and modern software development. You will have the opportunity to work with production systems from day one, alongside dedicated support and budget for learning and development.

The Junior Developer will work on a hybrid basis and receive direct mentoring from the Technology Lead, providing an opportunity to develop technical skills while solving real business problems.

The role and responsibilities

As Junior Developer, you will build AI agents, automation workflows, internal tools and integrations that support the organisation's day-to-day operations.

You will work closely with the Technology Lead and gain hands-on experience across development, automation and operational data.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Building and orchestrating AI agents to automate business processes.

* Developing APIs, backend services and internal tools using Python and Node.js.

* Creating automation workflows using Make, Zapier, n8n and LLM-powered tools.

* Integrating third-party platforms, APIs and Microsoft 365 services.

* Working with SQL and operational data to support automation and reporting.

The skills needed

We are looking for a Junior Developer with an interest in using technology to solve practical problems and a willingness to develop their knowledge.

You will need:

* Working knowledge of Python and JavaScript / Node.js.

* An interest in AI agents, LLMs and automation.

* Working knowledge of SQL, REST APIs and JSON.

* Familiarity with Git and modern development practices.

* An ability to solve problems, learn and take ownership of your work.
