Our service is expanding further, and we are delighted to be recruiting for a team lead o support the Team manager with their operational duties. This role is an exciting operational role and we are looking for candidates with experience in Mental Health with aspiration to progress in their career and to work in a fast paced innovative service. Please contact us for more details about the role. Candidates need to be qualified clinicians with core professional registrations (NMC, OT, Social Work, Clinical/Counselling Psychology, BABCP CBT).

Main duties of the job

We are ideally looking for a post holder who will have experience of working with adults and children within a life span eating disorders service. The Post holder will need to be experienced in working with or managing teams with adults and young people and families who have had an eating disorder or other complex mental health diagnoses. The Candidate will need to be passionate about delivering high quality care to complex mental health services and be innovative in their approach to developing new services and pathways within the transformation agenda. The post holder will need to be registered with a professional governing body and have experience in managing staff and teams.

You will be entitled to annual leave and bank holiday entitlement based on years of NHS services. Due to service needs, annual leave will predominately need to be taken within school holiday periods.

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. New starters will have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in CEME Campus, Rainham, Essex, RM13 8EU (please note: in order to travel to this destination you will have to make the Dartford crossing and be aware of the ULEZ charges). Candidates will need to have business insurance when travelling by car to claim both travel and above charges on expenses.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Operational support to Team manager 

1) Support with recruitment; including review of job applications, interviewing, and planning induction package.

2) Sickness and absence management; including return to work meetings, staff wellbeing meetings and referrals to occupational health.

3) Roster management, support with annual leave requests; flexible working requests and study leave.

4) Organising and chairing meetings.

5) Undertaking audits as required by the service.

6) To contribute to audit and research.

7) To monitor and guide the team in ensuring we meet safety benchmarks set by NELFT and the CQC, as well as ensuring delivery of interventions are carried out in line with NICE, guidance with Routine Outcome measures to monitor the efficacy of intervention.

8) To support Operational Leads with day to day running of the service including monitoring governance and compliance.

9) Act up in the absence of the Operational manager for short periods.

Essential criteria

Relevant graduate qualification with recognised professional body A minimum of a second-class Bachelor’s degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a relevant academic subject ( Psychology, Education, Childhood development, Social Work etc)

Desirable criteria

A minimum of a second-class Bachelor’s degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a relevant academic subject ( Psychology, Education, Childhood development, Social Work etc)

Experience

Essential criteria

Substantial Band 6 experience within a Mental Health setting or equivalent

Desirable criteria

Relevant mental health experience Experience in NHS or equivalent service

Experience of providing Clinical Supervision

Essential criteria

Extensive experience of providing clinical and managerial supervision

Desirable criteria

Managerial or leadership training

Skills

Essential criteria

Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively within a team

Desirable criteria

Demonstrate the importance of good record keeping and working in line with local policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Knowledge of risk management, ability to monitor and assess risk and act accordingly to ensure safety.

Desirable criteria

To guide the team to ensure safety benchmarks are met regarding delivery of interventions in line with NICE guidance and the use of ROMS
