Chief/Principal Enterprise Architect (Director Grade) Director Grade Location: Greater London Compensation: Up to £145k > Comprehensive Benefits Package (Pension, Health, 35 Days Holiday, Hybrid Work Culture) - Flexible This role requires a highly skilled and experienced Chief/Principal Enterprise Architect to join a Global Asset Management Enterprise Architecture team. This role is pivotal in shaping the strategic technology landscape of our organization, ensuring alignment with business goals, and driving innovation across asset management infrastructure. With an emphasis on financial services, this role will have a transformative impact on both the business and technology architecture. Candidates must have experience across key asset classes, including Equities, Fixed Income, Private Assets, Multi-Asset Solutions, and ESG Investments . They should be adept at designing and implementing technology architectures that address the unique needs of these asset classes, such as equity trading, portfolio management, and analytics, while ensuring risk management and compliance for bonds and derivatives. (Non-Negotiable) In this role, you will leverage your substantial experience in strategic and detailed architecture design, spanning full program delivery life cycles. Managing a team of Solution Architects across EMEA and APAC, you will oversee business, data, infrastructure, and security architecture while collaborating closely with business stakeholders, BAs, and engineering teams. Your leadership in implementing architecture principles, maintaining strategic roadmaps, and building robust architectural governance practices will ensure that strategic patterns are adhered to, and technical debt is effectively managed with business stakeholder accountability. Bridging Business and Technology: In this role, you’ll act as a vital bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams. Ensure data architecture aligns with both operational goals and strategic business initiatives. Harmonizing these relationships, translating business needs into actionable technical solutions. Fostering collaboration between diverse teams, . Deputizing and Leadership: Serve as a deputy for senior leadership, taking charge of the investment/portfolio architecture strategy. Serve as the Go-to expert in navigating complex technical landscapes, ensuring that your team delivers top-tier solutions. Maintaining alignment with broader organizational goals while providing the strategic guidance needed to drive success across the investment management technologies division. In this pivotal role, you will shape the strategic technology landscape of the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives while driving innovation across the asset management infrastructure. With a focus on investment/asset management, your leadership will have a transformative impact on both business and technology architecture. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in business and technology transformation, coupled with a strong track record in global finance. Your ability to navigate complex data governance frameworks and spearhead technology innovation will be critical in ensuring the organization's success. You will excel in presenting solutions and technologies to governance bodies, such as Technical Design Authority and Business Design Authority, ensuring cross-functional alignment across Security, Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams. The role involves leveraging cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud for scalability and efficiency, building robust APIs for seamless integration, and utilizing data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Snowflake. Proficiency in cybersecurity, blockchain, AI and machine learning, microservices architecture, DevOps, robotic process automation, and portfolio management systems like Aladdin and ThinkFolio is essential to support advanced data analysis, secure transactions, and efficient investment management processes. ️ Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the strategic roadmap for the division's technology landscape, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. Architecture Development: Lead the development and execution of the enterprise architecture strategy for our Investment Solutions and Services division. Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of Senior Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects across EMEA and APAC, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, product owners, and business stakeholders, ensuring technology solutions align with business strategies and objectives. Technology Innovation: Evaluate and implement emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, blockchain, microservices) to enhance operational efficiency, data integrity, and business agility. Governance and Compliance: Present architectural solutions to governance bodies (e.g., Technical Design Authority, Architecture Review Board) and ensure adherence to corporate standards and regulatory requirements. Project Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of complex technology projects, from initial concept through implementation and ongoing optimization. Data Architecture Alignment: Ensure data architecture aligns with operational goals and strategic business initiatives, addressing the unique needs of various asset classes. Candidate Requirements Extensive experience as an enterprise architect in the financial services industry, particularly in asset management. Proven leadership experience managing teams of senior architects and engineers. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and data management solutions (e.g., Snowflake). Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at the executive level. In-depth understanding of financial products, private assets, and investment management operations. Proficiency in architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and best practices in DevOps and Agile methodologies. ⚡ Major Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the strategic roadmap for the division's technology landscape, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. Compliance and Governance: Ensure all technology solutions adhere to corporate standards, governance processes, and regulatory requirements. Project Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of complex technology projects, from initial concept through implementation and ongoing optimization. Focus on Asset Management and Asset Classes Equities: Understand and address the architecture needs for equity trading, portfolio management, and analytics to support investment strategies. Fixed Income: Design systems to handle the complexities of bonds, derivatives, and other fixed income products, including risk management and compliance. Private Assets: Tackle the unique challenges of private equity, real estate, and other alternative investments, focusing on valuation, reporting, and transparency. Multi-Asset Solutions: Create frameworks to support diversified investment strategies across various asset classes, ensuring seamless integration and data consistency. ESG Investments: Incorporate environmental, social, and governance criteria into the technology architecture to support sustainable and responsible investment initiatives.
