A Day in the Life

The Technical Sourcing Program Manager, Software, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Services, and Telecommunications, will be responsible for the end-to-end sourcing strategy and supplier management for advanced technology categories that power our next-generation products and infrastructure. This includes computer hardware, embedded and enterprise software, AI/ML capabilities, cloud platforms, telecommunications infrastructure, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions, all integrated into an ISO compliant information security framework.

This highly collaborative role links Technology Development, Product Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely supplier engagement, risk mitigation, cost control, and alignment of technical and commercial strategies throughout the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Own sourcing deliverables across the full product lifecycle for software, AI, cloud, and telecom technologies.
  • Facilitate early supplier engagement to support architecture, integration, and deployment decisions.
  • Report sourcing progress, risks, and readiness to cross-functional stakeholders at key stage gates.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for hardware, AI/ML platforms, software, cloud infrastructure, SaaS, and telecom solutions.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulations, and supplier innovations to inform decisions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers across technology domains.
  • Lead sourcing decisions, negotiations, and agreements (SLAs, NDAs, contracts).
  • Align global teams (IT, Security, Legal, Regulatory) with business and category strategies.
  • Maintain and improve supplier management frameworks.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to cybersecurity, IP, vendor lock-in, compliance, and supply continuity.
  • Partner with Legal, IT Security, and Regulatory teams on governance and due diligence.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with quality and security standards (e.g., ISO, SOC).
  • Support audit readiness, documentation, and validation for software and cloud services.
  • Ensure vendors meet requirements for security, availability, and data protection.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical sourcing across hardware, software, cloud, SaaS, or telecom
  • Proven ability to lead supplier engagements and complex negotiations (technology, licensing, risk)
  • Advanced degree (MBA or M.S.) preferred.
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, financial services).
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), AI/ML sourcing, and telecommunications
  • Familiarity with contracting models (SOWs, licensing, usage-based pricing).
  • Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Strategic thinking and technology fluency.
  • Project and risk management.
  • Supplier negotiation and contracting.
  • Cross-functional leadership.
  • Proactive risk mitigation and continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory and security awareness.
