Research Manager, Quantitative and Mixed Methods
Old Street, London (4 days in the office, Fridays WFH) | Salary up to £63,000

This is a chance to join a fast-growing research and technology startup at a pivotal stage of its journey. You will work on high-impact, bespoke research projects while gaining hands-on exposure to cutting-edge AI-driven research tools that are reshaping how insight is generated and delivered.

The Company
They are a Series A to B B2B research and technology business of around 50 people, focused on closing the gap between what organisations think about people and what is actually true. By combining experienced researchers with engineers and data scientists, they deliver faster, deeper and more accurate insight than traditional agencies. Their work spans social, political and opinion research, partnering with mission-driven organisations, foundations and research-led clients. Alongside this, they are launching a new AI-powered qualitative research platform, including AI-moderated research capabilities.

The Role
You will take ownership of end-to-end delivery across a range of bespoke quantitative and mixed-methods projects, with support from senior team members where needed.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design, delivery and analysis of quantitative research projects, from questionnaire design through to insight generation.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, particularly on smaller engagements, and managing day-to-day communications.
  • Producing high-quality client outputs including data tables, presentations, written reports and clear visualisations.
  • Using research outputs to advise clients on strategy, messaging and campaigns.
  • Working closely with analytics and data science colleagues on techniques such as segmentation, regression, factor analysis and PCA.
  • Contributing to qualitative research, including analysis of interviews and AI-moderated qualitative outputs.
  • Actively engaging with and helping to develop AI-enabled research workflows and tools.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Strong commercial experience in quantitative or mixed-methods research, ideally within social, political or opinion research.
  • Confidence owning research projects from start to finish, with an organised and proactive approach.
  • Experience working directly with clients and communicating insights clearly and persuasively.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Interest in AI tools, advanced analytics or emerging research technology, with a desire to keep learning and experimenting.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, bespoke research environment rather than tracker-heavy studies.

What They Offer

  • Salary up to £63,000, depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working with four days per week in their Old Street office and Fridays working from home.
  • High autonomy, low hierarchy and exposure to genuinely innovative research technology.
  • Clear progression, with this role seen as a stepping stone toward senior Research Manager responsibilities.
  • A collaborative, curious culture that values ownership and learning.

What Is an AI Forward Deployed Engineer? The Fastest-Growing Job in AI for 2026

If you have been watching AI job boards over the past year, one title keeps surfacing again and again: the forward deployed engineer, or FDE. It has gone from a niche term known mainly to Palantir alumni to arguably the hottest role in the entire AI hiring market. Job postings for forward deployed engineers have exploded, salaries have climbed past levels most software engineers will ever see, and the biggest names in AI — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Salesforce, Databricks and Palantir — are all competing for the same small pool of talent. So what exactly is an AI forward deployed engineer, why has demand surged so dramatically, and how do you position yourself to land one of these roles? This guide breaks it all down for AI engineers, software engineers and data scientists looking at their next move.
