About the team

Our National Security and AI Safety business unit is dedicated to advancing the responsible development and deployment of AI in support of national security and global stability. From strengthening mission-critical capabilities across national security and intelligence, to working with frontier labs to provide robust AI safety red teaming and evaluation, we work at the frontier of high-stakes, high-impact missions.

We understand that powerful AI systems bring both transformative opportunities and complex risks and we are proud to partner with Government and the biggest tech organisations in the world to ensure AI is not just transformative but is also secure, trustworthy and safe for all.

Because of the nature of the work we do with our Government clients, you may need to be eligible for UK Developed Vetting (DV) and willing to work on site with our clients from time to time.

About the role

As a Senior Manager in our National Security and Safety team, you will act as a pivotal commercial and delivery lead, driving high-stakes AI transformation for the UK’s most critical government partners. You will be a strategic architect, building deep networks of influence and solving complex safety challenges by bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI research and operational mission needs.

With an entrepreneurial spirit, you will exceed ambitious growth targets while mentoring multidisciplinary teams to ensure every project delivers meaningful, long-term value in a fast-evolving national security landscape.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing the end-to-end delivery of complex AI and data science projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes that meet rigorous operational and ethical standards.

  • Nurturing strong, trusting relationships with government partners and technical stakeholders to act as a reliable advisor on AI implementation.

  • Developing compelling proposals and responding to RFPs to unlock new strategic AI use cases within the national security sector.

  • Supporting the execution of sector strategies by aligning project milestones with broader business unit goals and evolving safety needs.

  • Bridging the gap between highly technical AI research and strategic mission challenges to communicate complex ideas clearly to non-technical audiences.

  • Mentoring junior team members and project associates, fostering a collaborative culture focused on technical excellence and professional growth.

Who we're looking for:

  • You bring a solid foundation in the National Security domain, with a passionate interest in how AI can transform high-stakes decision-making and public safety.

  • You possess experience in consultancy or service-based delivery, allowing you to manage complex project lifecycles and meet critical deadlines under pressure.

  • You are an effective communicator, capable of translating technical AI concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.

  • You demonstrate a structured approach to problem-solving, thriving in ambiguous settings while maintaining scientific rigor and business focus.

  • You have a proven track record of supporting commercial growth, whether through identifying new opportunities or managing successful client onboarding.

  • You exhibit an entrepreneurial and proactive mindset, ready to adapt fast in a rapidly evolving domain while leading with integrity and clarity.

Where to Advertise AI Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising AI jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. The candidate pool is small, highly informed and in demand across multiple sectors simultaneously. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that AI professionals expect — and the filtering mechanisms they rely on. Specialist platforms, direct outreach and academic channels each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by ArtificialIntelligenceJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise AI roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about time-to-hire across different role types.

New AI Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Reshaping AI Careers

For candidates exploring opportunities on ArtificialIntelligenceJobs.co.uk, understanding who is hiring next is just as important as understanding what skills are in demand. In this article, we explore the new and emerging AI employers to watch in 2026, focusing on organisations that have recently secured funding, won major contracts, or expanded their UK footprint. From cutting-edge startups to global giants doubling down on Britain, these companies represent the next wave of AI career opportunities.

How Many AI Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an AI Job?

If you are job hunting in AI right now it can feel like you are drowning in tools. Every week there is a new framework, a new “must-learn” platform or a new productivity app that everyone on LinkedIn seems to be using. The result is predictable: job seekers panic-learn a long list of tools without actually getting better at delivering outcomes. Here is the truth most hiring managers will quietly agree with. They do not hire you because you know 27 tools. They hire you because you can solve a problem, communicate trade-offs, ship something reliable and improve it with feedback. Tools matter, but only in service of outcomes. So how many AI tools do you actually need to know? For most AI job seekers: fewer than you think. You need a tight core toolkit plus a role-specific layer. Everything else is optional. This guide breaks it down clearly, gives you a simple framework to choose what to learn and shows you how to present your toolset on your CV, portfolio and interviews.
