Cloud Platform Engineer - AI & National Security Programme

Location: On site in Cheltenham

Duration: 12 months initially

Clearance: You must be a UK Sole National & hold active SC clearance

The Opportunity

We are seeking talented Cloud Platform Engineers to join a cutting edge programme supporting a UK Intelligence Community customer in the Cheltenham area.

This is not traditional defence IT or routine support work. Instead, you'll be part of a forward thinking environment focused on artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, and modern cloud-native technologies.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will:

Design, build, automate and maintain cloud-native platforms and infrastructure

Enable Data Science and Software Engineering teams to develop and deploy solutions at scale

Work with modern tooling including:

AWS

Terraform

Kubernetes

Helm

Support rapid delivery of innovative solutions in a mission-critical environment

You'll be working within an AI Lab-style model, where:

Experimentation and innovation are actively encouraged

Teams rapidly prototype, test, and adopt emerging technologies

Requirements evolve-this is a dynamic, exploratory environment

What We're Looking For

Experience working with cloud-native platforms and infrastructure

Strong knowledge of AWS and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)

Hands-on experience with containerisation and orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm)

A mindset geared towards innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement

Comfortable working in uncertain or evolving requirements environments

Security Requirements

Active SC (Security Check) clearance is required

Must be a UK Sole National due to the nature of the work and client requirements
