Our client, a leading technology and engineering company within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking an experienced AI/Machine Learning Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering novel AI/ML solutions to technically complex or novel research problems

Leading teams of engineers across small research projects and larger multi-disciplinary development programmes

Providing technical expertise in AI/ML disciplines, including Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning, LLMs, and NLP

Conceiving novel applications of AI/ML techniques and adapting academic research

Developing and leading agile teams through complex software engineering tasks

Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance

Supporting business development through technical bidding activities and early-stage client interactions

Job Requirements:

Proven experience in AI and Machine Learning R&D

Significant experience in computer vision, reinforcement learning, and NLP

Strong software engineering skills, particularly with Python and widely used software tooling

Ability to lead agile teams and deliver complex projects at pace

Technical leadership skills and experience guiding and mentoring junior engineers

Eligibility to achieve Security Clearance (SC)
