We are looking for a hardworking Staff Modelling Engineer to join us as part of the CT-Systems Applied Computer Vision Team. This team is responsible for multimedia and vision oriented algorithm design, technology research, as well as next-gen Arm Multimedia Subsystem Architecture for mobile, large screen compute and other market segments. Responsibilities:
- You will be part of a multimedia system architecture team, giving you the opportunity to develop and make a relevant contribution into Arm Compute Subsystems
- The role will give you also outstanding opportunity to interact with world class specialists and architects, both inside and outside Arm
- The role offers analysing sophisticated computer vision, multimedia and graphics use cases, and data paths in the compute subsystem, and translating their functional and performance aspects into hardware C models
- As Staff Hardware Modelling Engineer you are asked for good understanding of hardware architectures and data paths of multimedia accelerators (DPU, VPU), as well as the image processing algorithms realised in those processors
- You will contribute to Arm Compute Subsystem (CSS) architecture definition work by developing HW models for the new architecture concepts and use those to conduct experiments to validate key multimedia use cases for image quality, and performance
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in hardware modelling of complex multimedia processors in C/C++, or SystemC, with good grasp of different modelling approaches: bit-accurate functional models, cycle approximate, cycle accurate models etc.
- Good understanding of various image processing algorithms and analytical thinking approach
- Experience in debugging of hardware modules in RTL functional simulation and modelling frameworks
- In depth understanding of system design trade-offs: hardware vs. software partitioning, power, performance, memory bandwidth, latency, quality-of-service, real-time vs. non-real-time traffic
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multiple teams under ambitious schedules, with a focus on delivery of results
"Nice to Have" Skills and Experience:
- Technical Lead experience on hardware modelling projects is a strong plus
- Knowledge of Arm architecture, AMBA protocol, MMU concepts
- Knowledge of video compression algorithms and hardware video accelerators
