We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is Monday - Friday.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Children’s Inpatient Psychiatric team based at the Royal Hospital for Children. Ward 4 provides specialised treatment for Children from 5 – 11 years who are experiencing severe psychiatric disorders. This may also be alongside Neurodevelopmental disorders, physical health problems as well as complex psychosocial factors.

We are seeking candidates with a broad range of clinical experience within Mental Health and Neurodevelopmental disorders. Paediatric experience would be desirable however not essential.

You will be joining a dynamic and supportive clinical team as well as being part of the wider Tier 4 CAMHS OT team. Clinical supervision, caseload/workload management and mentoring are all integral within the role and service.

Continued professional development is of key importance and opportunities will be available to develop your knowledge and skills. Including and not exhaustive of full induction, Essential to CAMHS, peer support groups, shadowing and Specialist Children’s Service OT network and learning events.

That you have a degree in Occupational Therapy. Have current HCPC registration. Car driver.

Ward 4 is a National service and accepts referrals from across the Scottish Health Boards. Due to this on occasion there may be a requirement for some flexible working including weekends to meet the service needs.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
