Job Description:

Our growing Digital Services team delivers data driven applications and infrastructure to improve our current business, whilst also creating new opportunities for our customers in the UK and around the world. The Digital team is part of the Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) line of business, which provides innovative and invaluable support solutions to our customers.

We are looking for a passionate and inspiring Solution Architect to join Leonardo to provide the solution architecture vision to a range of opportunities. This will involve working within a Campaign/Capture team, alongside our Business Analysts, to understand customer requirements and defining and articulating a successful solution using strong systems thinking skills. You will work closely with our product owners and developers to understand the current capabilities of the team and how that may contribute to new solutions, as well as using the team to help break down the design into costed work packages. You will also work closely with the wider Campaign/Capture team providing technical Systems Engineering and Project Management inputs to contribute to planning, scheduling and costing activities. You will also play a crucial role in managing senior stakeholders both internally and externally that will be both technical and non-technical in demonstrating and articulating the capabilities that the Digital Services team can provide.

Our team is located across the UK, and you can choose be based on any of our main UK sites. Leonardo operates a very flexible hybrid-working model that lets our people split their time between attending the workplace and working remotely. CS3 operates across the UK with key sites in Luton and Edinburgh. Regular travel within the UK, and occasionally abroad, will be required to support co-located working.

Develop architectures and design specifications in order to expand, define, manage and deliver the solution. Ensure where possible that solutions align with the teams strategy, current capabilities and technology roadmap Provide input to both technical Systems Engineering and Project Management to contribute to planning, scheduling and costing activities. Be a focal point for key stakeholders both internally and externally to build confidence and credibility for the team and the wider line of business. Identify opportunities to diversify delivery of our capability to adjacent sectors and assist writing the technical responses for new bids. Encourage Agile ways of working, coaching teams in best refinement practices, in both your own teams and in partnership with other teams

We’d like to hear from you if you have a combination of the following:

Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience as a Solution Architect with a focus on digital solutions. Strong understanding of digital technologies, including cloud computing, on-premises infrastructure, microservices architecture, and API design. Proficiency in selecting and integrating third-party tools and platforms. Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience in agile development methodologies and project management. Familiarity with security best practices and regulatory compliance in digital solutions. Ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions to business challenges. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools. Experience in or working with Business Analytics and Analysts It would be useful if you had:Certifications in relevant technologies and frameworks (Azure, AWS, etc.)Knowledge and experience of working in the Defence IndustryExperience of MOD logistics or engineering systems like MJDI, James and GoldKnowledge of architecture frameworks and approaches e.g. TOGAF, MODAF, ArchimateAn ability to organise teams to accomplish, prioritise and deliver valueKnowledge of data analytic and machine learning approaches
