SENIOR MANAGING ENIGNEER - MIDLANDS

COMPANY OVERVIEW

The Industrial Service and Compliance department is responsible for providing proactive and reactive maintenance and compliance regimes to customers across the UK. The successful candidate will join the team of field-based engineers to support the contract.

JOB PURPOSE

  • Ensures that the delivery teams always operate in accordance with current Health, Safety & Environmental legislation.
  • Maintain a proactive ‘Can -Do' approach to meet the requirements and objectives of the client and our business.
  • Manage the usage of refrigerant and materials to ensure that all targets are achieved.
  • Assist out administrative team with Engineers work sheet review to provide technical support and clear next steps for effective end to end work order management
  • Manage site and equipment condition to demonstrate ongoing reduction in reactive demand.
  • Support site operational meetings in support of recommendations to improve equipment operation and further client capital investment.
  • Build quotations in support of extra to contract works.
  • Review all internal MI reports and action accordingly.
  • Attend regular internal WIP review meetings with the administrative team and Contract Manager.
  • Ensure all monthly PPM completion targets are achieved.
  • Review remote telemetry to ensure plant and equipment is operating correctly
  • Perform and document monthly on-site quality audits of completed PPM activity.
  • Demonstrate clear and concise communication on all levels internally and externally.
  • Responsible for the quality of each contract by ensuring all practices and participants conform to agreed standards and processes.
  • Delivers success against Key Performance Indicators through effective management of the engineering teams.
  • Proactively manages the operational delivery of each contract in partnership with the customer and manages the relationship within the Business and Client as required.
  • Manage annual leave allocation and standby rota to ensure optimum resource levels are always maintained in conjunction with regional Manging Engineer where applicable.
  • Monitor and manage engineering productivity.
  • Highly self-reliant, motivated and enthusiastic.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven knowledge of the refrigeration engineering services sector and the changing expectations of our clients.
  • Proven knowledge of HFC refrigeration systems
  • Proven knowledge of trans and sub critical CO2 refrigeration systems
  • Proven knowledge of Ammonia refrigeration systems (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to root cause and resolve technical problems both on site & with use of remote systems telemetry
  • Ability to plan and complete PPM's on multiple sites and multiple contracts.
  • Technically competent with all refrigeration plant, controls and associated networks.
  • Ability to engineer technical solutions and implement as required.
  • Fully understand technical requirements needed to manage a multidisciplinary team across several contracts.
  • Fully aware of F-Gas regulations and hold a current 2079 Cat 1 F-Gas qualification.
  • Hold an industry recognised C02 qualification
  • Ability to identify on going, non-resolved issues via MI data.
  • Builds an effective partnership with appropriate people both internally and externally.
  • Is customer orientated and skilled in understanding their business objectives, working environment.
  • Is skilled in determining the most appropriate course of action based on management information and logical assumptions reflecting factual information.

SALARY & HOURS

Salary £50k to £52k per annum

40 hours per week - Monday - Friday. Your hours will generally be between 08:30am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

It is expected additional hours may be required to support operational demand. Additional hours will be paid at an agreed overtime hourly rate

Although the position does not require you to be included on the standby rota you may be required to cover shortfalls on occasion.
