We are seeking to hire experienced Data Modellers in the Engineering, AI and Data offering within Technology & Transformation.
Data is the key enabler across the insurance industry, across a range of business functions. Without a solid data foundation, clients struggle to achieve their vision for a data-powered future, including implementing advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Data Mesh and choosing disruptive technologies to build innovative and domain-oriented data products.
A well-crafted data modelling strategy forms the foundation of our clients' approach, facilitating the efficient implementation of advanced analytics and AI models to achieve a competitive edge in their industries and enhance the quality of their products and services for customers.
Our Data & AI Architecture team specialises in 'designing for data': how to source it, how to store it, how to structure it, how to transform it, and how to consume it for wide variety of data-centric functionality, including data APIs, data monetisation, Gen AI, machine learning, management information, and reporting.

Your role:
Our Senior Consultants and Managers work in a variety of projects to solve clients' toughest data problems by combining consulting, industry experience, and analytical skills to create a lasting impact.
Whether it is defining a data model, inputting to a data/solution/technical architecture or articulating requirements for data ecosystems, we need the very best people to join us and strengthen our team even further. That is where you come in.
You will work with other architects with different areas of expertise to define end to end architectures that coherently enable a range of business processes and insurance functions. You are an exceptional communicator, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders with ease. You have a strong ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment, leveraging the strengths of others to achieve common goals. You are outcome focused and have a desire to be pragmatic in your approach to designing and delivering high-quality solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities include:
- Analysing clients' business and technical environment through workshops and analysis of design documents to derive functional and technical insights to support the design and delivery of data models and data-related deliverables
- Delivery of business-facing insurance data models that effectively articulate designs, opportunities and challenges and can be used as a foundation for insurance transformations
- Inputting to the design of end-to-end architectures that articulate what functions are required to support data and analytics activities
- Helping market-leading clients understand how they can use data to address challenges, ambitions or objectives
- Leading relationships with senior client stakeholders to define a 'common language for data', so that data across the organisation can be interpreted and used consistently and efficiently for required purposes
- Managing effective, enthused and diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution
- Understanding the importance of stakeholder and change management and supporting development and implementation processes
- Assisting in the further development of our market leading solution and delivery offerings and help produce proposal documents to showcase our capabilities to clients
- Contributing to the development of our thriving Strategy, Governance and Architecture community
- Build our capability by training and managing talented members of our team

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate skills and experience in some of the following:
Essential
- Consulting or equivalent experience, inkling working on client facing projects and experience of contributing to proposal writing, presentations and pre-sales activities
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong senior stakeholder management using clear communications and be able to form strong client relationships and explain complex data designs to business stakeholders
- Good in-depth expertise in functional areas in Insurance such as Finance, Risk, Underwriting, Claims, Asset Management
- Strong experience in managing people, providing dynamic day-to-day workstream leadership that nurtures and develops junior talent, creating effective data design teams
- Strong understanding of data solutions, including data modelling, data management, data quality, master data management, reference data, reporting and visualisation, analytics and self-service business intelligence
- Experience developing a 'common language for data', including data models (all types), data dictionaries, data vocabularies, taxonomies or ontologies
- Demonstrate an understanding of data modelling principles and familiarity with processes, policies and any of the key data modelling tools
- Experience in engaging with both Business and IT stakeholders to document business outcomes and objectives for large-scale solutions and programmes
- Led data design workshops, including defining client requirements, document data models and reviewing output with stakeholders
- Be able to assimilate and apply new techniques and knowledge to achieve business outcomes
- Work within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution helping them grow their career in Deloitte
Desirable :
- TOGAF certified (or equivalent) or certification/good exposure to architecture and data management frameworks
- Experience and knowledge of delivering innovative enterprise data management frameworks e.g. Data Mesh
- Experience and knowledge in designing Data Products for the Insurance industry
- Experience in conducting architectural evaluation, design and analysis of enterprise-wide systems including on-premise and cloud-based solutions
- Define transition states and alignment of solution and features across the work streams
- Experience in defining the data components of an architecture blueprint and technology selection
- Experience as part of effective cross-geography teams, making effective use of offshore delivery teams
- Work with development teams to assure data design is translated into a robust implementation
- Ability to size projects and shape delivery of large programmes
- Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements such as GDPR, IFRS17, Solvency II
- Establish technical design authorities to review and manage design decisions
- Project Management experience of both waterfall and agile delivery approaches
