Mental Health Nurse - Mental Health Inpatient Services

The shift pattern for this position is Long days from 07.15 to 19.30 day shift and 19.15 to 07.30 nightshift.

You will provide a service to Renfrewshire Mental Health Inpatient Wards, which are currently based across three sites – Dykebar Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital & Leverndale Hospital. Your base will initially be in one of these sites, though you may be required to rotate to another site in due course. Applicants must be able to work in any of the three sites. You will provide care to patients with a wide range of mental health conditions, including care for adults and older adults as part of the multidisciplinary team. You should have knowledge and experience of working with people with mental health illnesses. It is essential you are a NMC registered nurse. This post also requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland checks.

The posts offered are full time 37 hours per week, though part time hours will be considered. The shift pattern is rotational, we are currently working long days from 07.15 am to 19.30pm. Our night duty starts at 19.15 until 07.30am. The shift pattern is currently under review due to the reduced working week initiative.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
