Job summary

Mental Health Wellness Team South is seeking anexperiencedMedical Secretary to provide smooth and efficient secretarial and administrative support function to the Consultant Psychiatrist and medical team. The successful applicant will haveworking experience of secretarial support in a health care setting and be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and workload management skills.

MHWT is a multi-disciplinary service, providing a range of specialist interventions within an integrated person-centred approach to people aged 18-65 resident in the Borough of Redbridge.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will have excellent written communication skills and have an efficient and confident approach to dealing with staff, patients, relatives and outside agencies as required.

The post holder will be required to undertake some general administrative duties within the service which directly support the work of the multi-disciplinary teams.

About us

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High-Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735) pro rata for part time staff.

NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy Excellent IT skills

Previous medical secretarial experience Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team Competence in audio / copy typing to produce high quality, well presented documentation Ability to take minutes Experience of working in a Mental Health organisation Understanding of Confidentiality & sensitive nature of the work

Skills

Essential

Good working knowledge of RiO, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point, Access Clear communication skills including excellent writing, data entry and presentation skills Handling sensitive and confidential information
