This is a permanent, part-time post of 33.4 hours per week. 

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

The post will incorporate days/nights/weekends/public holidays. The shift pattern for this post is 11.25 hours rotational days and nights across 7 days.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of A Health Care Support worker within the Neonatal Unit at the Royal Hospital for Children. The Neonatal unit is a busy 50 bedded ITU/HDU/SC. The ability to organize and priorities workload are essential. As a Health Care Support Worker you are a hugely valuable support to our Nursing and Midwifery teams providing care to our patients. Everyday you’ll be working in close contact with patients and Families carrying out a wide range of tasks As a Health Care Support worker, you will ensure a high standard of cleanliness following infection control policy and guidelines. As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will maintain stock supplies in the department and ensure the units cleanliness is maintained to a high standard. The post holder may be required to provide care to patients in support of the trained nurse and will work in assigned areas, be kind, caring, professional and reliable.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a or a NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
