The role of a Global Partner Marketing Team Lead at Canonical

Open source software is the new default in the enterprise, and Canonical is the new challenger to major enterprise software vendors.

Our customers include Global enterprises and startups. Our partners include leading tech companies across public cloud (Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Oracle…), silicon (ARM, Intel, Qualcomm, Mediatek, Nvidia, Xilinx…), hardware vendors (Dell, HP, HPE, Lenovo). We are expanding our product range from the base operating system - Ubuntu - to full enterprise solutions in infrastructure and applications. We can deliver software defined storage, private cloud solutions, container runtime environments, as well as databases, message queues, identity, observability, analytics, machine learning and web publishing capabilities. Our goal is to have more open source solutions on tap than any other vendor, and we have built unique capabilities to make that possible across every cloud, every class of compute and every category of application. 

Customers love the idea that they can get security compliance and support for everything open source from a single company. Partners love the breadth of our portfolio and the possibilities this gives them. 

Canonical provides licensed enterprise software products, commercial support, managed services, consulting and training services to customers who are deploying Ubuntu or open source applications on the cloud, in their data center, or to the connected device and IoT ecosystem. We are just over 1, colleagues in 70+ countries and $m in revenue, profitable, on a steady but relentless growth trajectory. 

We are looking for a Global Partner Marketing Team Lead who will be responsible for developing our strategic relationships with a set of global partners. As our business increasingly depends on partners, the scope of our partnership grows every year, GSI, channel, IoT device vendors... We are thus looking for an individual, who will not only drive successful marketing activities with our partners but also shape our various partner programs.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology, technology marketing and the use of technology in marketing. You will prefer to work in an environment that puts emphasis on ownership of campaigns, collaboration, learning, curiosity and a drive to continually improve oneself / the team / the organisation. You will also love to problem solve, get hands-on, experiment, measure and use automation to make daily life easier. 

This role reports to the VP of Marketing.

Location:Our company largely works from home, this role can be based in the Americas.

What your day will look like

Lead a global team of Partner Marketing Managers Develop & maintain a deep understanding of partner business strategies and objectives Grow partner sales through integrated partner marketing programs across channel, system integrators, public cloud, hardware vendors, device manufacturers and semiconductors Craft scalable co-marketing strategies and programs that benefit both Canonical and partners, from messaging to program delivery Grow the value proposition of co-marketing programs for current partners and attract new partners Establish & support relationships with partner sales and marketing teams to improve sales for Canonical products, services and technologies Advocate for mutual business development, by bringing together Canonical and partner products, capabilities and market presence Drive consistency among partners to ensure the Canonical brands and value proposition are accurately and professionally represented

What we are looking for in you

Experience in B2B marketing and experience working with strategic corporate partners to develop co-marketing initiatives Experience in enterprise software, SaaS or silicon preferred Strong customer/partner relationship management skills Proven analytical skills, able to assess opportunities and make decisions on ROI/advantages of programs & investments Track record of delivering strong results and innovation Growth mindset - someone who is not afraid to think big and take on risk Willingness to roll up your sleeves Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Ability to work and thrive in a self-starter, fast-paced and changing environment Loves diverse work assignments and enjoys the opportunity to try new approaches and overcome challenges

Your base pay will depend on various factors including your geographical location, level of experience, knowledge and skills. In addition to the benefits above, certain roles are also eligible for additional benefits and rewards including annual bonuses and sales incentives based on revenue or utilisation. Our compensation philosophy is to ensure equity right across our global workforce.
