Description

Napier is currently searching for an experienced Bid Manager to support our pursuit of new business in EMEA. It is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing, global company, working on complex, strategic bids and proposals in a highly visible position within the company. 
 
The Bid Manager will be responsible for leading the development of bid strategies and persuasive bid and proposal deliverables in EMEA. Required competencies include: 
  • Ability to own and manage the end-to-end bidding processes (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, Executive summaries and commercial proposals) at Napier including writing and organising responses to provide high-quality bids, often at tight deadlines. 
  • Leverage your existing and relevant industry domain knowledge to understand Napier’s competitive environment and the segments in which Napier operates.  
  • Be significantly involved pre-RFP, driving the ‘Capture Phase’ with Sales, Pre Sales Consultants, Partners and internal stakeholders across Go to Market team product, technology, security and finance, to ensure all resources are aligned to the client’s requirements before the RFI/RFP process gets underway. 
  • Strong relationship management of senior internal stakeholders; 
  • Outstanding project management skills; 
  • outstanding writing, messaging, and overall communications skills. 
     
This role will also include involvement in continuously evolving and improving our bid strategy and bid processes. The role includes significant hands-on involvement in bid delivery and is not limited to strategy and coaching. The role also includes contributing to the development of bid skills and building of bid self-service capability across Napier. 


What you'll be doing:

  • Lead Bid/RFP teams in EMEA developing and refining a strategy for the bid. 
  • Own the project management of bids, driving action from all required. 
  • Collaborate with EMEA Sales team, Partner team, Marketing/graphic design and fellow bid team members to ensure on-time completion and a high level of quality 
  • Direct contribution of text to proposal documents and presentations, relating to our differentiators/competitive advantages, including original writing where required e.g. executive summaries (note that technical content will be written by our Pre-Sales/Product/Sales teams but editing by the Bid Manager of this content may be required) 
  • Working within existing templates and with the support of our Marketing team, ensuring that bids have a highly professional and polished finished look and feel, in particular through the application of advanced PowerPoint and Word formatting. 
  • Drive innovation and leverage technology and digital assets to improve the impact of Napier’s sales/bid deliverables. 
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to develop visual themes that support key messages and appropriately address the target audience 
  • Manage and coach Sales Professional on bid presentation skills 
  • Work with the team to identify opportunities to evolve and improve our offerings to the company and to bring best practice from other regions.


Do you have what it takes: Bid Manager

  • 3 to 5 years plus relevant experience in a similar position in a technology, software, Regtech, Fintech where you participated in the bid processis essential 
  • Excellent communicator, writer, editor, and strategist 
  • Excellent project management skills, with a focus on driving action 
  • Strong focus on process management and reporting on Bid Activity and process improvement 
  • Ability to work at all levels of the company to achieve a result, in particular strong experience in working with, influencing and challenging senior stakeholders/sales team. 
  • Tenacious in ensuring that contributors perform as required and agreed - able to lead and motivate a team of client facing staff to collaborate closely in delivering a winning bid 
  • Exceptional PowerPoint and Word formatting skills 
  • Must be able to ‘roll up their sleeves’ and demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude. 
  • Motivated by the opportunity to work in a deadline-driven environment 
  • Must be able to work with grace and efficiency under pressure 
  • Ability to analyse data and make sound observations and recommendations quickly 
  • Ideally experienced in leading strategic/technology consultancy firm, or legal practice (desirable) 
  • Experience in working with Marketing teams/designer to develop and deliver creative concepts (desirable) 
  • Experience in working with agencies to deliver video content from concept to production (desirable)
