To help us to build on the success of thisjournal were seeking a researcher with a background in any area ofelectrical and electronic engineering who has a critical eye a deepunderstanding of their subject and interests beyond and who canthink on their feet.The Associate/Senior Editor role at NatureCommunications will handle manuscripts in Electrical Engineeringand Energy Infrastructure mostly. It is ideal for researchers wholove science and engineering but feel that a career at the benchisnt enough to sate your desire to learn more about the naturalworld and for those who enjoy reading papers outside their chosenarea of research.
This role can be located in our LondonBerlin or Pune offices on a hybrid working model. Please note thatthis position is offered on a fulltime permanentbasis.

Responsibilitiesinclude:

• Handlingoriginal research papers
• Working closely withother editors on all aspects of the editorial process includingmanuscript selection and overseeing peerreview.
• Making wellreasoned editorial decisionson submitted manuscripts in the light of expertadvice.
• Determining the representation of theirsubject in the journal.
• Liaising extensivelywith editors at other journals in the Nature family and withexperts in the international scientificcommunity.
• Attending conferences and visitingresearch institutions.

Experience SkillsQualifications:

• APhD (or equivalent experience) in electrical and electronicengineering or related areas including but not limited to powersystems energy infrastructure energy modelling and managementand/or telecommunication systems.
• Experiencewith applied computational methods and machine learning ispreferred but not essential.
• Postdoctoralresearch experience is preferred but notessential.
• A thorough understanding of thefundamentals of the subject is essential.
• Apassion for science and engineering and a thirst to learnmore.
• You must be able to demonstrate thebreadth of your interest in scientific research both within andbeyond your speciality and across the wider fields of electricaland electronic engineering and energyinfrastructure.
• Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills and be fluent in English (written andspoken).
• The ability to read and assess thecontext and implications of research submitted to the journal fromdifferent areas of this discipline.
• Eagernessto travel and meet scientists worldwide learn more about them andtheir research and help them learn more about us and what we arelooking for in the papers we seek topublish.
• Editorial experience is not requiredalthough applicants with significant editorial experience areencouraged to apply and will potentially be considered for SeniorEditorpositions.
