We are seeking interested applicants to have achieved or be expected to achieve any STEM degree – that’s it!.... no prior experience needed.
Key skills / attributes that we’d be looking for from the successful candidate are;
Problem-solving abilities: an aptitude for identifying issues and coming up with effective solutions. 2. Attention to detail: an ability to ensure accuracy and maintain high-quality work. Communication skills: proficiency in conveying information clearly and working well within a team. Adaptability: flexibility to learn new tools and technologies as needed. Organisational skills: capability to manage time and resources efficiently to meet project deadlines.
Your Graduate scheme
The successful candidates (we have 3 opportunities) will complete placements with all the teams within the Welsh Water Data Team (data science, data engineering, data automation and data governance). This will allow you to learn about all the different elements that our data team work on and give you a well-rounded experience.
In addition, the successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies, gaining hands-on experience with tools that are integral to our data platform. There will also be opportunities to earn certifications, further boosting your technical credentials.
As part of a team dedicated to evolving Welsh Water's data platform into a "data-driven/AI-ready" organisation, you will develop valuable skills in architecture, design, and engineering. The role also emphasises agile development practices and the cultivation of essential skills, such as stakeholder management.

Good to know
Your graduate scheme will primarily be based South-East Wales although there will be travel across our sites in Wales and the Borders.
Recruitment process - we are running our adverts until December 9th. Should your application meet our criteria, you’ll be sent a short assessment to complete. The second stage of assessment will be an in-person assessment centre, which likely take place at our head office in Cardiff between February/March 2025.
