Role Summary:

A Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to extract meaningful insights and help organizations make data-driven decisions. They play a critical role in identifying trends, creating visualizations, and presenting actionable recommendations to stakeholders. The role requires a combination of analytical skills, technical proficiency, and business acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection and Cleaning:

  • Gather data from primary and secondary sources (databases, APIs, surveys, etc.).
  • Perform data cleaning and preprocessing to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze datasets using statistical techniques to identify patterns and trends.
  • Develop and implement data models to solve business problems.

Visualization and Reporting:

  • Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present insights to stakeholders.
  • Use tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Excel for data presentation.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, operations, finance) to understand business needs.
  • Translate business questions into data-driven solutions.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions.

Database Management:

  • Manage and maintain databases or data warehouses.
  • Use SQL to query and manipulate data as needed.

Documentation:

  • Document analysis processes, methodologies, and results for future reference.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees (M.Sc./MBA) in relevant fields are a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, or SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods, machine learning, or predictive modeling is a plus.
  • Knowledge of big data tools like Hadoop, Spark, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is desirable.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.

Experience:

  • 6-8 ears of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related roles.
  • Experience in a specific domain (E.G Banking ) is a bonus.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
  • Tableau Desktop Specialist/Professional
  • Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate
  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
