Band 6 - Cardiology Clinician (Nurse)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Cardiac Nurse to work with our Cardiac teams in BHR. The BHR teams include Havering, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham. 

This Band 6 role provides a fantastic opportunity to develop your Cardiac clinical skills by receiving dedicated training and a structured competency plan, supported by clinical leads.

 We are looking for clinical staff who are passionate about the care they give to patients and who want to make a real difference in these areas. You will work in and be supported by, a multi-disciplinary care team including nurses, doctors, therapists and psychologists. Each long term conditions will be supported with a Professional Lead to support with complex cases and to continuously improve the quality of service that is consistent across the patient’s journey.

This vacancy is for a Cardiology Clinician (Nurse)

Main duties of the job

To effectively assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients presenting with cardiac disease To represent the service and provide information to service users as required GPs, Primary and secondary care professionals, voluntary organisations, patients and their carers. To provide safe practice to all patients referred to the BHR Community Cardiology Service and liaise with Primary and Secondary Care Practitioners regarding the care and medical management of patients with cardiology problems. To provide specialist cardiology advice to colleagues working in other clinical areas and act as the patients advocate

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). 

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum).

Qualifications

Essential criteria

NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy Registered Clinician (NMC/HCPC) to degree level or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria

Post registration training or equivalent experience in Coronary heart disease management Minimum of 1 years’ experience of caring for patients with cardiac conditions Evidence of post registration development and continued learning Further training or equivalent experience in ECG interpretation

Other

To be able to travel efficiently throughout the area
