NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. This is part-time post of 18.5 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Your base will be QEUH, but with rotation to other sites required.

Valid Driver's Licence and access to a car is essential (you may be eligible for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's Car Lease scheme).

We are seeking to recruit a caring and motivated Registered Nurse to join our Heart Failure team of nurses in South Sector, with base at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Working with the Multi-Disciplinary Team Heart Failure nurses provide a patient centred specialist nursing service to optimise the continuum of care of patients with Heart Failure by managing the patient effectively throughout the whole of their care episode, from diagnosis, admission into the hospital and within the community. The Heart Failure Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) will exercise a high level of autonomous and non-medical prescribing. Decisions are made using high level expert, knowledge and skills and clinical competence in the delivery of a high standard evidenced based clinical care, in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Health and Safety Legislation. The HFANP also supports junior nursing and medical staff and is actively involved in teaching.

The successful candidate must be a Registered Nurse who has completed post graduate education or demonstrable equivalent experience. Demonstrate clinical leadership and experience within cardiology to include patient management in heart failure. Under AFC Annex 21, this post is also available as a Band 6 training post to candidates who can evidence and willing to undertake further post-graduation education to undertake the full range of the post requirements duties of this post.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
