This role will involve you undertaking complex analytical work to deliver insight about, and enable improvements to, the financial and environmental impact of distributing goods through Tesco’s distribution network. You'll also be using your understanding of data and statistical analysis to shape hypotheses and test findings, using effective communication skills to deliver insight in a clear and engaging manner. Being the subject matter expert in natural work teams to advise on changes which may impact shrink while providing knowledge, insight and refining solutions to issues that arise.
You will be responsible for:
Work within project teams that deliver streams of work designed to support and improve the transport and distribution network through which goods flow from our suppliers to stores
Deliver data-driven insight through dashboards, reports and ad hoc analyses in order to shape key business and project decisions
Provide time-critical input to stakeholders throughout the Transport and Distribution function
Proactively conceive and develop valuable intelligence on your own initiative, even if beyond your role
Drive change and be willing to stretch and develop yourself
Communicate honestly, openly and persuasively and take time to listen, to collaboratively come up with simple, effective solutions
You will need:
Numerate degree from a globally recognised institution + A-level maths
Statistical analysis and research methods
Using data warehousing tools to extract and manipulate data – SQL highly desirable
Strong knowledge of Excel (knowledge of VBA desirable)
Knowledge of Python, Tableau, or other data science tools (e.g. Matlab, R), useful but not compulsory
Demonstrable experience turning analysis into insight (i.e. the significance, implications and conclusions resulting from analysis)
Presenting with clarity and confidence
Managing and influencing stakeholders
