About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Tech Delivery Lead to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in either London or Manchester (Radbroke).

Our client is seeking a Director-level Technology Delivery Lead to lead technology execution within a Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Lab, a key part of a bank's Financial Crime Prevention organisation. Operating in a "two-in-a-box" leadership model alongside the Product Lead, the successful candidate will be accountable for translating strategic priorities into executable technology outcomes, driving delivery across a complex portfolio of CDD, KYC, AML and Economic Crime initiatives.

This role requires a highly credible technology leader capable of operating from strategy through to execution, with the ability to challenge and influence across architecture, programme delivery, product development and business requirements. While not expected to be a hands-on engineer, the role demands strong technical leadership and oversight of architects, engineering managers, scrum masters and release train engineers.

The ideal candidate will bring significant experience delivering technology transformation within Financial Crime, Customer Due Diligence, AML or Client Lifecycle Management environments and will be a strong advocate of Agile delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities:

Technology Delivery Leadership:

  • Lead end-to-end technology delivery across the CDD Lab portfolio.
  • Partner with Product leadership to shape and execute strategic roadmaps aligned to Financial Crime Prevention objectives.
  • Translate business strategy into delivery plans, technology solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Ensure delivery of complex, multi-team initiatives through Agile at scale frameworks.
  • Drive execution from inception through design, build, testing, deployment and adoption.

Product and Agile Delivery:

  • Lead the breakdown of strategic initiatives into epics, features and delivery increments.
  • Support prioritisation and sequencing of work across multiple Agile teams.
  • Champion Agile ways of working and continuous delivery practices across the Lab.
  • Facilitate alignment across Product Owners, Architecture, Engineering and Operations functions.
  • Manage dependencies, risks, governance and delivery outcomes across multiple workstreams.

Technology and Architecture Leadership:

  • Provide leadership and challenge across solution architecture, technology strategy and delivery approaches.
  • Ensure alignment between strategic architecture direction and execution plans.
  • Partner closely with enterprise and domain architects to drive scalable, resilient and compliant solutions.
  • Support modernisation and transformation initiatives across Financial Crime and CDD technologies.

Leadership and Stakeholder Management:

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary technology organisation comprising:
  • Architects
  • Engineering Managers
  • Scrum Masters
  • Release Train Engineers
  • Engage effectively with executive stakeholders across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk and Compliance.
  • Present delivery progress, risks and strategic recommendations to senior leadership forums.
  • Foster a collaborative, outcome-focused culture across global teams.
About You
  • Director-level technology delivery leadership experience within a large-scale financial services organisation.
  • Extensive experience delivering complex technology programmes within:
  • Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
  • KYC and Client Lifecycle Management
  • Financial Crime Prevention
  • AML and Economic Crime
  • Customer Servicing
  • Proven leadership of large Agile delivery organisations.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, product delivery models and scaled Agile frameworks.
  • Experience leading technology delivery across multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to operate credibly across:
  • Strategy
  • Product delivery
  • Architecture
  • Programme execution
  • Requirements validation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience interacting at Executive and Managing Director level.

Desirable:

  • Experience delivering Financial Crime platforms, data and analytics solutions, workflow tools or case management systems.
  • Knowledge of AML, sanctions, transaction monitoring and customer risk management processes.
  • Experience leading cloud, data, AI or automation-enabled transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to large-scale banking transformation programmes within Tier 1 financial institutions.
