An opportunity has arisen for aSenior Data Scientist to join a leading UK organisation undergoing a significant AI-led transformation. This role sits within a high-performing Data Science team focused on delivering advanced machine learning solutions that directly influence customer experience, product innovation and business strategy.

This is a position for someone who wants to operate at the intersection of technical excellence, commercial impact and strategic delivery, working on complex, high-value AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end development of machine learning models, from concept through to production
  • Design and deploy advanced solutions including recommender systems, generative AI and optimisation models
  • Translate complex business challenges into scalable, data-driven solutions with measurable impact
  • Own delivery of multiple strategic projects, managing priorities and stakeholders effectively
  • Work closely with engineering teams to deploy models into production using modern MLOps practices
  • Influence senior stakeholders, clearly communicating insights and driving adoption of AI solutions
  • Contribute to the wider AI strategy, identifying new opportunities and driving innovation
  • Mentor junior team members and support capability development across the function
  • Ensure all solutions align with best practice in responsible AI, governance and risk management
Key requirements
  • Strong academic background in a quantitative or statistical discipline
  • Extensive experience in data science, with a proven track record delivering business impact
  • Advanced proficiency inPython and SQL
  • Deep understanding of machine learning techniques including regression, classification and modern AI approaches
  • Experience building and deploying production-grade models
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience leading projects and owning delivery across complex environments
Desirable experience
  • Exposure togenerative AI, recommendation systems or reinforcement learning
  • Experience working in regulated or customer-centric industries
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and MLOps tooling
