BI Data Engineer - Berkshire - Hybrid - Up to £61,000

The Role

An established, data-driven organisation is seeking a Principal BI Engineer to lead the evolution of its business intelligence and data platform capabilities. This is a strategic, hands-on role for an experienced BI professional who thinks beyond dashboard delivery and focuses on building scalable, trusted data products.

You will play a key role in modernising a legacy reporting environment and shaping a cloud-native analytics platform, while maintaining high-quality business reporting and strong stakeholder engagement. The role calls for a blend of technical leadership, platform architecture expertise and a strong commercial understanding of business performance metrics.

Key Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' experience in BI, Analytics Engineering or Data Engineering roles.
• Proven ownership of critical reporting platforms and business-facing data products.
• Hands-on production experience with Azure Databricks.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience operating within business and technology transformation programmes.
• A platform-first mindset focused on reusable, scalable solutions.
• Azure Stack experience.
