Senior AI & Robotics Engineer

Oxfordshire (Hybrid) | £70,000-£80,000 + Bonus + Benefits

We're working with an innovative technology business based in Oxfordshire that is expanding its AI and Robotics team following continued growth and investment.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary engineering team developing next-generation intelligent systems that combine AI, machine learning and robotics to solve complex real-world challenges.

Working closely with software engineers, data scientists and product teams, you'll play a key role in designing, developing and deploying AI-driven solutions from concept through to production.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop AI-powered software for robotic and autonomous systems.
  • Build, train and optimise machine learning models for real-world applications.
  • Develop computer vision and sensor fusion capabilities.
  • Work with LLMs and Generative AI technologies to create intelligent workflows and automation.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering teams to define technical requirements and solution architecture.
  • Develop scalable cloud-based AI services and APIs.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and contribute to future product strategy.
  • Support continuous improvement of AI performance, reliability and scalability.

Requirements

  • Commercial experience developing AI or Machine Learning solutions.
  • Strong Python development skills.
  • Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch or similar ML frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Computer Vision, Robotics or Autonomous Systems.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
  • Understanding of APIs, microservices and modern software architecture.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with ROS / ROS2.
  • Experience with LLMs, RAG or Agentic AI architectures.
  • Knowledge of reinforcement learning or motion planning.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
  • MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics or a related discipline.
