About the Opportunity

We're supporting a fast-growing, technology-led consulting business that is investing heavily in AI, automation and digital product development.

As part of this growth, we're looking for an AI Engineer to join a small, highly capable technical team responsible for building both client-facing solutions and proprietary internal platforms.

The successful candidate will work across a broad range of challenges, including AI agents, workflow automation, data engineering, app development, market intelligence, ERP-related solutions and internal AI products that support consultants and clients alike.

You'll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, shape how solutions are built and work directly alongside senior leaders responsible for growing the business.

  • Building AI agents and agentic workflows
  • Supporting data engineering and integration activities

  • Automating internal consulting workflows
  • Building tools that improve delivery efficiency
  • Developing reusable AI capabilities and accelerators
  • Supporting analysis, reporting and knowledge management initiatives

Technical Responsibilities

  • Python development
  • AI agent orchestration
  • LLM applications and RAG solutions
  • API integrations
  • Data pipelines
  • Cloud-based development
  • Application development
  • Workflow automation

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • 2-4 years' software engineering experience
  • Strong Python development skills
  • Experience working with GenAI / LLM technologies
  • Experience developing software applications rather than purely analysing data
  • Understanding of AI workflows, agent frameworks or automation tooling
  • Experience delivering real-world software solutions
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills

Highly Desirable

  • AI Agents / Agentic AI experience
  • RAG architectures
  • Data engineering experience
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Modern application development experience
  • Consultancy or client-facing experience
  • Interest in emerging AI technologies

Who This Role Will Suit

This opportunity is ideal for someone who:

  • Enjoys variety and ownership
  • Likes solving ambiguous problems
  • Is naturally curious and proactive
  • Wants influence over the products they're building
  • Thrives in a fast-moving environment
  • Enjoys learning new technologies
  • Wants to help shape the future of a growing business

If you enjoy building things, experimenting with technology and taking ownership of outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.

What Is an AI Forward Deployed Engineer? The Fastest-Growing Job in AI for 2026

If you have been watching AI job boards over the past year, one title keeps surfacing again and again: the forward deployed engineer, or FDE. It has gone from a niche term known mainly to Palantir alumni to arguably the hottest role in the entire AI hiring market. Job postings for forward deployed engineers have exploded, salaries have climbed past levels most software engineers will ever see, and the biggest names in AI — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Salesforce, Databricks and Palantir — are all competing for the same small pool of talent. So what exactly is an AI forward deployed engineer, why has demand surged so dramatically, and how do you position yourself to land one of these roles? This guide breaks it all down for AI engineers, software engineers and data scientists looking at their next move.
