Your Role In Action:
Strategize and Innovate: Use your extensive experience to drive forward transformative business solutions with advanced statistical, machine learning, and AI techniques.
Explore and Pioneer: Stay at the forefront of the data science field, pioneering new methodologies and staying up to date with the latest industry breakthroughs.
Lead and Collaborate: Guide a dynamic team in refining model deployment processes and champion the role of data science within Admiral, motivating our data community to unlock the full potential of our data and amplify its impact across the business.
Influence and Partner: Work closely with business leaders to leverage the transformative power of Data Science, shaping future strategies and identifying key opportunities.
Mentor and Develop: Play a pivotal role in developing the growth of your team, sharing your wisdom to advance their skills, and being a pivotal role in creating a robust and impactful data science culture.
Make Your Mark: Drive significant value and innovation at every turn with data-driven insights.
Essential:
4-5+ years Data Science experience.
2-3+ years Insurance Pricing domain knowledge.
Experience with developing Machine Learning models.
Using Machine Learning techniques to create business solutions.
Knowledge of feature engineering and selection techniques.
Coding experience in Python.
Stakeholder engagement and interaction.
A natural problem-solver.
Model monitoring & maintenance.
Mentoring and/or management of other team members.
Desired:
Model deployment experience.
Project management.
Use of software development tools and version control systems such as GIT and Azure Dev Ops.
Experience of thinking about the wider impact of ML models and techniques on the customer and what considerations to put in place.
Passionate about making a positive difference in the workplace and beyond, with a knack for understanding the big picture through data.
Experience of using SQL for data extraction, simple transformations and analysis.
Testing experience.
MLOps.
Leadership skills.
Great at talking data with anyone, from technical to non-technical audiences, and turning numbers into compelling stories that drive action.
Location:
The role is a hybrid role with an expectation to attend our Cardiff office twice a week. Once on a specified team day and the other day to be chosen at the discretion of the successful candidate.
