Technical Lead London Hybrid

My client is building artificial intelligencecapable of complex driving using endtoend deep learning; one whichcan scale across diverse urban environments. They are building afull driving software system which is datadriven at every layerlearning to drive.

They are looking for a strongtechnical lead who has experience in shipping in productionreliable and performant software for distributed highend computingdevices. As a member of the onboard Software Platform team you willwork within an engineering team which is delivering the softwarefor edge devices to reliably provide data experimentationvalidation and autonomy on a largescale fleet of vehicles. Throughthis role you will have the opportunity to work with the companysnextgeneration innovative compute and sensor platform andcontribute to all phases of the software developmentlifecycle.

The KeyResponsibilities

Your mainresponsibilities as a contributor to the robot software stack willinclude:

Build software to enable full sensorintegration and data capture at scale and quality necessary for afully autonomous vehicle.
Deliver and maintainsoftrealtime Linuxbased applications to a fleet of embedded deviceson automobiles. Including data collection and storage as well asmachine learning inference on the edge.
Create robustfault tolerant software solutions with comprehensive systemdiagnostics so they can quickly and efficiently resolve any issuespreventing their deployed fleet from operating at maximumcapacity.
Design implement and use system monitoring toolsto improve performance and resolve both adhoc and systemicissues.
Technologies the team is using:

the onboard software is run on Nvidia Jetsondevices; C and Rust being the main languages they use in the mostof their codebase. They use many of the industry standard librariesthat youd expect i.e. ROS2ecosystem.

You MUST have thefollowing skills

• Verystrong programming skills in C and/orRust.
• Strong understanding on how to optimallyuse/configure IPC middleware for high data throughput roboticapplications.
• Debugging skills including anability to delve deep on performance issues stack traces core dumpsslow disk writes high system load memory bottlenecks eternal devicebottlenecks and threading issues.
• Knowledge ofthe Linux build systems and user space device drivers.
  Anunderstanding of how distributed systems operate either in cloud orrobotics systems and how to make these types of systems morescalable and performant.
