About the Role

The Supply Chain & Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's key Supply Chains and procurement activities.

This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, policies and processes, managing supply chain relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services. This role aims to optimize the procurement process to achieve cost savings, quality improvements, and ensure there is an efficient supply chain in place.


Accountabilities include...


Procurement Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and conditions to identify potential opportunities and risks in the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand and anticipate their procurement needs.


Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service capabilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual terms and standards.
  • Occasional international travel may be required to meet with suppliers and attend industry events
  • Identify and provide mitigating strategies where supply chain risks have been identified.


Contract Negotiation and Management:

  • Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings and mitigate risks.
  • Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
  • Monitor contract performance and address any issues or discrepancies promptly.


Procurement Operations:

  • Oversee the procurement process, from requisition to purchase order issuance and delivery.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate acquisition of goods and services, avoiding disruptions to operations.
  • Implement and maintain procurement policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and control.


Cost Control and Budgeting:

  • Monitor and manage the procurement budget, ensuring expenditures align with financial objectives.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service levels.
  • Track and report on key procurement metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times.


Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions and quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.


About You

  • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful procurement and supplier management.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement Cloud).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proactive and results-driven.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities.
