Job Description

Why loveholidays?

At loveholidays, we’re on a mission to open the world to everyone, giving our customers’ unlimited choice, unmatched ease and unmissable value for their next getaway. Our team is the driving force behind our role as our customers’ personal holiday expert - the smart way to get away.

The impact you’ll have:

As the Strategy Manager for International Expansion, you'll play a pivotal role in accelerating loveholidays' growth across European markets. You'll be responsible for identifying new markets, conducting in-depth research to understand customer needs, and building a playbook for successful expansion. Your work will directly impact the company's revenue and global footprint, and you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of the travel industry.

Context:

Since 2012, loveholidays has been enabling customers to search for the right holiday by the type of holiday (beach, kids club, less than £250 per person), not just where and when our customers want to go on holiday. This approach has been one of the building blocks that has taken us to be the 3rd largest package operator in the UK and a number of prestigious growth awards on route.

At loveholidays, we process half a trillion hotel room and flight combinations into holiday packages each day. Holiday data feeds into sophisticated real time search and machine learning recommendation systems, all hosted on cutting edge cloud infrastructure, to provide our customers with industry leading technology for finding the best holiday.

Your day-to-day:

  • Market Selection & Research: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify promising countries for expansion, prioritising based on potential impact.
  • Expansion Playbook Development: Create a comprehensive playbook outlining the strategies, processes, and best practices for launching into new markets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Expansion team, as well as teams operating in new markets, to ensure seamless execution of launches.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyse performance data to evaluate the success of market launches and identify areas for improvement.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions.

Your skillset:

  • Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to develop and execute growth strategies, with a focus on international expansion.
  • Data Analysis:  Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive insights from data to inform decision-making.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Platform Business Expertise: Deep understanding of how platform businesses operate, including their unique challenges and opportunities. Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of technology principles and approaches.
  • Problem-solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex issues, with a bias for action.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Language skills: English and one more from German, Spanish, Dutch

Desirable:

  • Experience in E-commerce or Travel Industry: Prior experience in a similar role, preferably within the e-commerce or travel industry.

Perks of joining us:

Other than an amazing environment for you to grow, have impact and show the world your incredible skills, we offer the following benefits:

  • Company pension contributions at 5%
  • Individualised training budget for you to learn on the job and level yourself up
  • Discounted holidays for you, your family and friends
  • 25 days of holidays per annum (plus 8 public holidays) increases by 1 day for every second year of service, up to a maximum 30 days per annum
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity leave
  • Cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan and eye care vouchers

At loveholidays, we focus on developing an inclusive culture and environment that encourages personal growth and collective success. Each individual offers unique perspectives and ideas that increase the diversity and effectiveness of our teams. And we value the insight and potential you could bring on our continued journey.

The interview journey:

  1.  30' screening with a Talent Partner
  2.  45' video interview with the Hiring Manager
  3.  90' panel interview, including a task to present
  4. Final interview with CEO & CHRO
