The shift pattern for this position is 12 hour Shifts within a 24 hour service which is Monday to Friday.

We have an opportunity for a Band 5 Nurse to work within NVIC Ward 3. This is a Nurse led surgical 23 hour bed unit that consists of 12 beds and is part of the Day Surgery facility at the New Victoria ACH. This post is rotational and covers a 24 hour service through Monday to Friday, however this is subject to change.

This is a dynamic clinical area that can care for immediate post-operative patients. You will be a First Level Registered Nurse with experience working within a surgical area preferred however role specific training will be provided to the successful candidate. You will be expected to provide the highest standard of specialist patient care utilizing departmental criteria for decision making, hence the post holder should be a registered nurse who is highly motivated, competent in patient decision making and be enthusiastic to progress this service for our patients.

The successful candidate should be able to:

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care and follow standards/protocols in order to give a quality service to patients. You will be supported in expanding your knowledge and skills by our departmental practice development staff. The ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team is required. Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.

You should therefore note candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current NMC registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be shortlisted.
