It is essential you are a Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration.

The shift pattern for this position is rotational. There are 2 posts available.

(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

An exciting opportunity for passionate motivated nurses to join our fantastic Trauma Assessment Unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH). TAU consists of 9 bedded unit which accepts trauma patient from ED, GP referrals and wider trauma network including inter-hospital transfers. You will be responsible for the general assessment of patients and work closely with Trauma Liaison and our orthopaedic Flow Co-ordinator. Training will be provided to develop casting skills and specialist splints applications for a wide range of trauma and orthopaedic conditions. You will have the opportunity to work with innovative team members within multidisciplinary environments, working collaboratively across the unit. You will be supported, encouraged and appreciated within your role. There will be opportunities for enhancing your skills, venepuncture, cannulation through additional training and development which we offer and encourage. This is supported by our Nurse Educator who will support you while you settle into your new environment. Our standard shift pattern is 12 hours shifts over 7 days, including Public Holidays and weekends. We are to offer flexible shifts patterns out with the standard 12 hour rota. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
