About this role We are seeking an innovative Staff Software Engineer to scale our systems that empower LLMs to interact with external, custom data sources. To reach a seamless customer experience, our systems need to be faster and more accurate and your role will be to lead the architecture for this effort. LI-JF1 What you’ll do Lead, design and implement the architecture for our LLM-based systems from the ground up Work with our AI Research team to optimise search and retrieval results for our custom data sources Support our efforts to improve our LLM-based system’s performance for our custom domain, including fine-tuning and/or pertaining LLMs, creating efficient agents networks, etc. Expand concepts like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to encompass heterogeneous data types (images, tables, relational data, etc.) Collaborate with product teams to rapidly prototype and deliver innovative solutions Qualifications Extensive Python/ golang/ rust programming experience Strong background in machine learning, search & retrieval research Proven experience developing software utilising LLMs (OAI, Anthropic, Mistral etc.) and SLMs (Llama, Phi etc.) Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable search systems and algorithms Experience with distributed data processing and large-scale system architecture Familiarity with search algorithms and information retrieval concepts such as indexing, ranking, query understanding and RAG (preferred) Experience working with research teams to enhance search quality (preferred) Experience building large scale knowledge bases (preferred) Experience with cross-modal data integration (text, images, structured data) What’s in it for you Hybrid schedule: We offer a flexible working schedule.
