The Intelligent Automation Platform is an Enabling Platform as part of the Enabling Services CIO in GCOO. Our purpose is to ‘automate the routine whilst supercharging our understanding of customers in order to help Britain Prosper’. The emphasis is on the provision of products that enable automation, in combination with generating, interpreting, and acting upon the data that improves our customer understanding. Our focus is on providing our products through federation and self-service to enable Business Platforms to deliver value at pace.
As a member of the Voice Analytics team within the Conversational Experience & Analytics Lab, you’ll play a vital role in our development of new chat and audio pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You’ll collaborate on innovative solutions that incorporate pioneering AI and machine learning solutions, and on delivering actionable insights from vast amounts of unstructured data to hundreds of users.

Job Description

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a track record of delivering high-quality work to join our team in Bristol, UK. As a Software Engineer, you'll play a critical role in building the bank of the future.

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.

Write unit and integration tests, and align with coding standards to ensure code quality.

Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and testers to deliver high-performance backend services.

Work closely with SRE and DevOps team to monitor and troubleshoot existing services.

Requirements

Experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role.

Strong understanding of software development principles with experience of building highly observable and scalable solutions.

Experience in Python. Experience of Node.js and React would be an advantage.

Be a self-starter, comfortable to drive self-learning by reading existing codebases.

Experience with GCP including tools such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub and Cloud Storage, or their equivalent AWS/Azure services would be an advantage.

Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Proficiency with Git & an understanding of CI/CD and its implementation in cloud platforms.

Familiarity with Agile principles & practices including scrum methodology and associated tools such as Jira.

Familiarity with software testing methodologies and practices.

Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.

Effective collaboration and relationship-building capabilities.
