Digital Surgery is developing new products to provide real-time guidance and decision support inside the operating room. As a Software Engineer working on the real-time video processing team, you’ll be helping to develop high-performance video and AI processing pipelines for use in the operating room. We’re looking for someone experienced with real-time video manipulation and parallel processing who is comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team.

A Day in the Life

1. Design, implement, and optimise video processing pipelines running on computing systems deployed in the operating room.
2. Leverage hardware acceleration to develop high-performance, low-latency video capture, processing, AI inference, visualization, and streaming software.
3. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop robust and secure-by-design software for a medical device.
4. Maintain a high level of quality and reliability in submitted code and participate in team code reviews.

Must Haves

1. Experience with Nvidia Holoscan, Deepstream, and/or Gstreamer.
2. Excellent C++ development skills with C++11 or higher, multi-threading, inter-process communication, and performance optimisation.
3. Excellent knowledge of software design principles and C++ design patterns.
4. Hands-on experience designing low-latency, high-performance, real-time video or image processing software.
5. Experience developing or implementing real-time image processing algorithms using hardware acceleration.
6. Experience with CUDA or OpenCL.
7. Experience with TensorRT, Triton, or equivalent AI acceleration/inferencing frameworks.
8. Ability to write clear, maintainable, and well-documented code.
9. Capability to work independently, driving development from concept to production.
10. Strong communication skills.

Nice to Haves

1. Experience with Pytorch/TensorFlow or similar machine learning framework.
2. Knowledge of video compression and coding (e.g. H.264, H.265, VP9).
3. Good knowledge of Linux.
