The Finance and Planning Directorate in NHS England is looking for talented, diverse, highly motivated people to join the Financial Oversight and Delivery (FOD) team as a Senior Finance Lead Financial Oversight and Delivery - workstream: Financial Planning and Analytics.

In the Finance and Planning directorate we:o ensure the NHS lives within its annual budget set by set out the financial and performance priorities the NHS should be delivering each report how much the NHS has spent on providing services each a Senior Finance Lead you will be a key member of NHS England Financial Oversight and Delivery team and will play an important role in leading or supporting:o the development of a programme management approach to analytical work undertaken within the team, and development of an approach to working alongside our regional based NHS England colleagues to ensure optimum use of our collective analytical capability and creation of a process for the continual review of all aspects of our work, including the identification of new innovations in technology and Artificial Intelligence and harnessing these to deliver improvemento where required providing additional capacity for the planning and reporting functions undertaken with the Financial Oversight and Delivery team
Main duties of the job
In your application, please demonstrate your experience in the following areas:o Qualified accountant or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a specialised finance area. You will need an understanding of the NHS financial framework; ideally with experience of working at a senior level within the NHS.
o You will lead on the development of a programme management approach to analytical work undertaken within the team. You will require excellent organisational skills, and have experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, working to a fixed timetable.
o You will lead engagement with regional analytics stakeholders to develop collaborative working relationships. You will require excellent communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to work with stakeholders to deliver improved outputs.
o You will lead on the identification and development of innovative solutions for analytical work within the team. You will require advanced analytical skills and be an advanced user of analytical tools ( Alteryx/PowerBI). All senior leads in the team require advanced EXCEL skills, additionally this role requires data analytics experience ( VBA and SQL).
o You will be responsible for the management of one or more of the software applications used by the team. You will need to demonstrate skills in application governance. You will review the applications, explore alternatives and maintain a business continuity plan.
