ABOUT THE ROLE Weare seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join ourgrowing data science team. As a key contributor, the Senior DataScientist will be responsible for leveraging their advanced dataanalysis and machine learning skills to solve complex businessproblems and drive data-driven decision-making within ourorganisation and those of our clients. The ideal candidate willhave a strong background in statistics, machine learning and dataanalysis, along with a proven track record of delivering impactfulinsights and solutions - with demonstrated experience getting datascience solutions into production. Key responsibilities are: *Conduct independent (and collaborative) research and development ofdata science and machine learning models; develop cutting-edge datascience and machine learning models that drive business value,leveraging internal and external data sources. * Skilled in, andcontinue to improve upon your knowledge of decision science,communicating data, domain modelling, predictive modelling,advanced analytics, MLOps, Research and AI Ethics with thewillingness to upskill others in these competencies. * Collaboratewith cross-functional teams: work closely with cross-functionalteams to apply data science and machine learning models to businessproblems, ensuring that models are integrated into products andservices. * Communicate results and impact: communicate results andimpact to stakeholders, including technical and non-technicalaudiences. * Stay current with industry developments: keep up todate with developments across data science and machine learning,identifying opportunities for applied research and development. *Mentor junior data scientists: mentor junior data scientists,fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.REQUIREMENTS * Fluency in Python with experience with at least onecloud provider; preferably Azure. * Qualified experience in arelated field, including, but not limited to, Data Science, MachineLearning & Computer Science. * 5+ years of experience in datascience and machine learning, with a strong track record ofindependent research and development a plus. * Strong technicalbackground, with expertise in a range of machine learningalgorithms and data science techniques. * Strong experience indelivery across the lifecycle of machine learning products,adhering to robust software engineering practices. * Excellentcommunication, with the ability to communicate complex data scienceconcepts to technical and non-technical audiences. * Strongcollaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively withcross-functional teams. * Passion for data science and machinelearning, with a desire to continuously learn and innovate. NICE TOHAVE * Experience with GISc (raster & vector-based workflows),graph theory, time series modelling and XAI. * Experience sharingresearch in academic or industry forums, and drive to expand Sandsindustry footprint. * Experience in retail, utilities (e.g. wateror telco) or financial services industries.
