Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a strong background in EU/UK regulated financial services to lead our client’s EU/UK Risk team. This is a unique opportunity to be a key player in ensuring company compliance with local and global legal standards while balancing risk management and business priorities. You will collaborate with teams across the business to shape the future of their risk and compliance strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Manager for EU/UK Licensed Entities

• Develop and implement risk management strategies for EU/UK licensed entities (payments, insurance distribution, credit broking).
• Oversee risk exposure versus entity risk appetite, with timely escalation where necessary.
• Provide data-driven insights to inform leadership and Board members of risk levels, mitigations, and potential impacts.
• Support incident response management and drive organizational preparedness for risk events.

Global Program Leadership

• Lead key global risk programs, including Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, and Product Risk Assessment.
• Create and manage policies, procedures, and toolkits to enhance global risk governance.

Team Leadership

• Manage and mentor a globally dispersed team of three direct reports, supporting them throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Foster a collaborative risk-aware culture by coaching non-risk professionals on best practices and risk management fundamentals.
• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely execution and adherence to high standards of operational excellence.

What We’re Looking For:

• Extensive experience in a risk management role, preferably in a regulated EU/UK financial services environment.
• Demonstrated success in managing risk at an enterprise level, with experience navigating complex, fast-paced organizational settings.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to present data-driven risk insights to senior leadership.
• A pragmatic approach to risk management, balancing mitigation efforts with business priorities and resource constraints.
