The Applied Social Science Group within the Primary Care Unit are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated postdoctoral research associate to a project that explores the assessment of attachment and caregiving. The project will involve meta-analytic studies informed by attachment theory and research, seeking to learn more about assessing the needs of children and families.

The study is part of an international programme of research and engagement, supported by a consortium of over 200 researchers and practitioners from 31 countries. There will be ample opportunity for the post holder to collaborate and build their networks with international research leaders. We are looking for someone capable of working responsively and collaboratively, and with a desire to influence practice with children and families through research.

The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive team, led by Professor Robbie Duschinsky. This team includes clinicians from various professions (e.g. clinical psychology, general practice, social work) and researchers from across disciplines (e.g. primary care research, epidemiology, sociology, psychology).

The post holder will have a PhD in relevant discipline (e.g., psychology, psychiatry, social science, epidemiology, data science, health services research) or have equivalent qualifications. They will have a strong knowledge of parenting and child mental health research along with a knowledge of quantitative methods and experience using statistical software packages such as R and STATA.

The post holder will be well supported in their professional development, with opportunities for developing skills and knowledge. The Investigators will work with the post holder to develop a bespoke training and development plan that will focus on the skills and experience they need to make the most of the opportunities afforded by the project and to progress their career.

The funding for the post is available for two years from commencement in post.

The position is either full time or part time for no less than 80% FTE per week.

The post holders' responsibilities can be fulfilled largely through remote working in the UK, though there will be occasional in-person meetings.
