Research Associate Health Grand Challenge - MachineLearning

The primary purpose of this role is tocontribute to the Grand Challenge in Health by advancing theKnowledge Action and Impact. As Research Associates you willleverage your expertise to develop innovative AI models andsolutions that address complex healthcare problems. You will workcollaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to drive forward theInstitutes vision of transforming healthcare through AI ensuringthat research outcomes have practical realworld applications andimpact.

DUTIES AND AREAS OFRESPONSIBILITY

• Publishand disseminate highquality research papers and publicationsdetailing research outputs and projectcasestudies.
• Cultivate strong relationshipswith internal stakeholders liaising with teams across the Turing asrequired.
• Communicate or present researchoutputs to diverse stakeholders through conferences events meetingsand press opportunities asappropriate.
• Participate in internal meetingswith relevant groups stakeholders as well as external meetings withrepresentatives of industry and potential partnerorganisations
• Work collaboratively withacademic experts and broader research partners from across theTuring and the wider Turing community.
• Workclosely with healthcare professionals data scientists and engineersto translate research findings into practical healthcareapplications.
• Contribute to the life of theInstitute and support a diverse and inclusive community throughembracing the Turing values.
• Adhere to andpromote principles of reproducible and ethical data science andensure secure handling of data and health and safety in all aspectsof work.

Requirements

• APhD (or equivalent experience and/or qualifications) in a relevantarea which will include Computer Science AI Machine LearningStatistics or similar interdisciplinary subjects (if close to PhDcompletion Research Assistant level will beconsidered).
• Proven research experience inmachine learning and AI
• Expertise in naturallanguage processing and medical imageunderstanding
• Knowledge of reinforcementlearning and causal statistics
• Evidence ofhighquality publication(s) in a relevant field (published orinpress) commensurate with your careerstage
• Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills including the ability to present complex ortechnical information and to communicate effectively with otherstakeholders outside the researchcommunity
• Ability to adapt the style ofcommunication to the audience and ensureunderstanding
