Within our offices in London, Chester and Los Angeles and Europe, Equals comprises of three business lines and brands - Equals Money, FairFX and CardOneMoney. You will join a very close-knit, talented and supportive team from various backgrounds who believe that bringing different perspectives together helps us understand our customers' needs. About the role

We are looking for a Product Manager who has worked on customer facing and/or colleague enabling products that are enabled by AI, utilising Machine Learning.


We process millions of payments and issue thousands of cards per year and have a ton of customer interactions. Supporting our customers with the best outcomes to their queries and our colleagues with the best tools to get there are core to our mission.


The ideal candidate will be taking 18 years of historic data and driving core business improvements as a head on challenge.

Ideally, you understand new AI technologies and follow those that are emerging closely, such as AWS Bedrock utilising public LLMs, such as Claude.

The initial responsibilities for this role will be:

  • Enabling colleagues in Customer Service teams across the group with the goal of reducing contact resolution time and human interaction by 40% over the coming 12 months. There is a unique opportunity to start from scratch with new contact centre solution tooling.
  • Utilising AI in existing core features such as expense management, thus automating what can be an administrative burden.
  • Over time you will identify and drive forward opportunities across the existing product catalogue as well as new product ideas that will enable the business further and delight our customers.
  • You will work with and be part of a newly established delivery team, ensuring we deliver innovative solutions that realise measurable value. You will manage through influence.
  • You will be working on both internal and external facing systems and liaising with stakeholders at all levels, incl. Product, Data, Operations, and Compliance

About you

As a product manager, you will…

  • Shape the roadmap for our AI strategy, identifying and driving high value initiatives.

  • Translate those high-level roadmaps items into actionable batches of work for the Data Engineering, Design and Engineering teams or any external parties we might call in for implementation of value.

  • Work closely with our Data function, learning about our data, how we use it to today and how we could be using it tomorrow to inform and run models on different technologies to improve experiences across the board.

  • Collaborate with the wider delivery team to transform customer and business requirements into product specifications and UX and UI designs. You will work together on discovery workshops, user research and testing to gather and validate ideas and potential solutions.

  • Work closely with the product and technology leadership team in providing strategic guidance around AI and ML.

  • Oversee key projects, measuring and impacting core KPIs.

  • Form close bonds with and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Where AI enabled products are customer facing, you will work closely with the Growth team in ensuring the product features are accurately reflected in first class product collateral and relevant market campaigns.


Accountabilities

  • Drive efficiency for our colleagues and our customers by automating mundane tasks through the use of AI that evolves with the product.

  • You will help make us better at the things we are already good at and will help us evolve.

  • If not already present (this is my no means a must), develop an understanding of payment technologies, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.


Essential Skills

  • Proven experience delivering successful end to end customer facing AI enabled product/product features whilst owning a product roadmap or strategy directly.

  • Strong experience in taking customer and business requirements and translating them into product specifications, whilst challenging the status quo.

  • The ability to write detailed user stories.

  • Experience of collaborating with a team of developers, designers, data scientists and QA and leading them towards defined product goals and building software products from the ground up and producing MVP.

  • Ability to prioritise effectively.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Proven senior stakeholder management experience.

  • Familiarity with using applications such as Figma and Notion for collaboration.

Desirable Skills

  • Ideally experience as a product manager in a payment solution business (this is not a must have).

  • Experience in platform thinking, with a focus on growth and customer stickiness.

  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to drive results.

  • Strong data literacy skills to validate assumptions and measure success, you will interact with data scientists and need to be on the same page.

  • Technical appreciation of software development, APIs, and product architecture, ideally having worked on an API product or a product with strong API or platform focus.

  • You won’t be expected to write code.
