Role Summary

  • Responsibilities: You will play a key role in the creation and delivery of visually engaging presentations for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will collaborate with project teams to refine the narrative, flow, and design of presentations that communicate complex information in a creative and digestible format  
  • Salary: £28,000 to £33,000 per annum, depending on your qualifications and previous experience

About the Role

As ourCreative teamat Costello Medical continues to grow, we are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a creative and innovative individual to join us as a Presentation Designer. This is a truly pioneering role where you will have the chance to drive the development and evolution of our presentation design service offering, enhancing the team’s creative capabilities.

In this role, you will take complete ownership of the design and delivery of a wide range of visually appealing presentations for both internal teams and our clients within the healthcare sector. You will be involved at every stage, from crafting initial concepts and narratives based on key messages and briefs, to executing the technical visual design. Collaboration with the Creative team, project managers, and clients at the outset of projects will be crucial to define the scope and purpose. You will then produce presentations that meet high standards of clarity, accuracy, and design, while also providing technical insight and guidance to project teams when needed.

At Costello Medical, our in-house Creative team are passionate about data visualisation and optimising the way scientific content is communicated. We are also committed to supporting projects where we believe our skills can make a meaningful difference to healthcare. Therefore, you will have the opportunity to support not only commercial projects, but also the delivery of pro bono work for charities and the public sector. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and designing both internal and external slide decks that meet project briefs, with a key focus on layout, animation, transitions, interactivity, and data visualisation
  • Building presentation templates, design assets, and pitch decks to enhance the company’s creative and business development strategies
  • Bringing new and innovative ideas to presentations, whilst supporting the narrative and flow as outlined in project briefs
  • Ensuring presentations are delivered in a timely manner, and on budget, with a key focus on the high quality and professional appearance of all deliverables
  • Leading the way in presentation design for the company, keeping abreast of industry trends and advancements, and providing team training where required

Requirements

About You

We are looking for an individual with proven skills in presentation design to complement our rapidly-growing Creative team. You will have a great understanding of aesthetics and a meticulous attention to detail. You will also take pride in delivering excellent service internally to colleagues and externally to clients, and will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires you to have a problem-solving mindset and strong design skills, as well as exceptional organisation and self-motivation. An eagerness to work both independently and collaboratively to find solutions is a must.

Essential requirements for the role are:

  • A degree level or higher qualification in a design-related discipline (minimum 2.1), in addition to a strong presentation design portfolio. We welcome applications from candidates with a diverse range of specialisms, including but not limited to; Graphic Design, Digital Design, Graphic Communication Design, Marketing, Digital Communications
  • Expert technical ability in Microsoft PowerPoint, including the development of templates, working with slide masters and themes, as well as a strong understanding of animation and interactivity
  • Good knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience working with a wide range of creative assets to design visually engaging presentations that adhere to internal or client brand guidelines
  • An understanding of fundamental design principles, including typography, hierarchy, and layout
  • A problem-solving mindset, and the confidence to discuss solutions with a wide range of audiences, including both colleagues and clients
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, an excellent level of productivity, and the flexibility to respond to changing deadlines
  • The ability to maintain exceptional customer service and quality of deliverables under multiple competing demands
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build robust and sustainable working relationships

You will receive comprehensive one-to-one training from experienced members of the team, learning about the technical aspects of the role as well as effective communication.

The Recruitment Process

Our recruitment process includes a telephone interview with a member of the Talent Acquisition team. If successful, you will be invited to an interview, which includes a portfolio review, with senior members of our Creative team. Our standard recruitment process usually lasts around 2 to 3 weeks, however this can be adapted if necessary.
