We are looking for a an enthusiasticcommunicative matrixteam operational individual with PreclinicalPharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (PKPD) experience to join usat our Slough site in Berkshire UK.
Aboutthe roleYou will be an integral part of the team todrive strategy and support projects by exploring PK/PDrelationships in preclinical models to help understand the dose andschedule requirements for therapeuticinterventions.
What youlldo
- Developand drive the nonclinical PKPD strategy for projects. Communicatethis effectively ensuring implementation inprojects.
- Ensure translation from in vitro dataand in vivo nonclinical studies to prediction of efficacy andsafety in patients.
- Initiate and engage inmultifunctional collaborations to facilitate the advancement ofdrug candidates and build a thorough knowledge of drug pharmacologyand PKPD leading to quantitative translation to theclinic
- Build PKPD models to allow hypothesistesting and inform decisionmaking.
- Providescientific and technical input expertise and leadership toNonclinical PKPD group project teams and thedepartment.
- Work in collaborations withexternal partners academic institutions CROs and consultants asrequired.
- Maintain an awareness of new /emerging techniques and tools relevant to thefield.
- Represent the interests of QCPinternally and externally in matters relevant to mechanistic PKPDand contribute to enhancing the scientific reputation ofNonClinical PKPD
- As required contribute to DueDiligence of external project product and technologyopportunities
- Provide required support andinput into regulatory study protocols reports and summaries andregulatory submission documents.
Interested For this rolewere looking for the following education experience andskills
- PhD inrelevant discipline (pharmacology bio/engineeringpharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics etc.)
- Goodunderstanding of pharmacology and the pharmacology processesrelated to disease and drugmechanisms
- Expertise and proven application ofPKPD methods and concepts in support of drug discovery anddevelopment. Systems modelling experience would beadvantageous
- Demonstrated experience indeveloping and executing effective nonclinical PKPD strategies fromearly discovery through to clinic
- Innovativeselfmotivated teamoriented scientist with good written and verbalcommunication skills able to handle several projects at any giventime to work successfully in teams and to communicate clearly to avariety of audiences
- Demonstrated leadershipskills in a matrix environment capable of working effectively inteams and influencing relevantstakeholders
- Experience working within a matrixenvironment with a wide range of internal stakeholders includingNonClinical Safety Bioanalysis Clinical Pharmacology andTranslational Medicine.
- Record of publicationsand other external scientific contributions relevant toPKPD
- Experience in using modelling andsimulation packages such as Phoenix Berkeley Madonna MonolixR
