Job Summary:  

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented risk specialist to join our Risk Management team at FreedX, a leading cryptocurrency exchange. As a part of risk management team, you will play a senior role in supporting the development and implementation of our risk management framework, with a focus on quantitative analysis and risk modelling. You will work closely with the Head of Market Risk and other stakeholders to identify, measure, monitor, and manage risk exposures, ensuring the firm's risk appetite and regulatory requirements are met. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Quantitative Analysis:Conduct quantitative analysis of market risk exposures using tools such as Value-at-Risk (VaR), Expected Shortfall (ES), stress testing, simulation and scenario analysis. 
  • Risk Model Development:Assist in the development and maintenance of real time risk models, including statistical models and machine learning algorithms, to enhance the accuracy of market risk assessments. 
  • Data Analysis:Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets (low latency) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that may impact market risk exposures. 
  • Collaboration:Work closely with trading, market-making, product, compliance, and risk teams to ensure effective risk management practices are in place following processes and procedures. 
  • Market-Making/Prop Trading Support:Provide support to the market-making and prop trading teams on derivatives products and assist in the development of risk management features for these activities. 
  • Research and Development:Stay up to date with the latest research developments, conferences, literature in quantitative finance and risk management, and show evidence to apply this knowledge to our team 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative field. 
  • At least 5 years of experience in quantitative analysis, risk management, or a related field, with a strong background in financial and cryptocurrency markets. 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Matlab, and experience with risk management systems, quantitative analysis and visualization tools. 
  • Strong understanding of traditional, derivatives and cryptocurrency markets. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver deadlines. 

 

Preferred Attributes: 

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB, and experience with libraries such as NumPy, pandas, and scikit-learn. 
  • Professional certifications such as PhD, FRM, PRM, or CFA.  
  • Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.  
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and regulatory requirements.  
  • Knowledge or experience with market-making or prop trading on spot or derivatives cryptocurrency market, with a focus on risk management and mitigation strategies.
